Parsing Banality: Post-Painterly Art of Dilettantism by Steven Heard
IN THE LOBBY GALLERY March 5 - MARCH 31
Each of my pieces is an experiment and a learning experience for me. With no formal training beyond Mrs. Pulliam’s last high school Art IV class I turned to Instagram for inspiration and instruction. I’m influenced by masters like Monet and Picasso, but inspired by current artists like Kim Cogan, Sean Cheetham and Jeremy Mann. My chosen medium is oils, for their versatility, brilliance of color, and ability to layer them. With each painting I hope to present the viewer with an interpretation of mood and light. Striving for meaningful bold strokes filled with color and confidence.
