The very first concert at GPAC, way back in 1994, was Ray Charles. He set the bar high. This season we are proud to present a show that reaches that high bar and delights fans of his music. This is not a “tribute” show but a collection of outstanding musicians luxuriating in the joy of Charles’ music. Award-winners Clint Holmes, Take 6, Nnenna Freelon and Kirk Whalum, along with a powerful band, will present the tapestry of blues, jazz, gospel and country that was Ray Charles’ gift to the world. In our minds, we can see him smile.
