IMPORTANT INFORMATION: As you are no doubt aware, the COVID-19 pandemic continues to alter our daily lives. Ever mindful of the safety of our patrons, artists and staff and the importance of continuing our mission to entertain and engage, GPAC has become adept at adapting procedures and requirements. Last year, from June 2020 to June 2021, GPAC safely presented 113 events outdoors in The Grove, following and communicating the ever-changing protocols. As the fall approaches, we have several indoor events scheduled, and I am writing to inform you that, at our first indoor concert, we will initiate a very important new requirement.

At the request of the artist, everyone attending the Bruce Hornsby & the Noisemakers performance at GPAC on Thursday, September 16, 2021, will be required to provide proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 or proof of a negative COVID-19 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test result taken within the 72-hour period prior to 5:00 PM on September 16, 2021.

Please note that the last day to get the Johnson & Johnson Janssen vaccine in order to prove full vaccination for this event was September 2. September 2 was also the last day to get your second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines in order to prove full vaccination for this event.

Proof of vaccination or negative test result will be checked outdoors in The Grove starting at 5:30 PM on September 16. If you wish to receive advance clearance to attend the concert, simply visit the GPAC Box Office between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM (Mon. - Fri.) September 8 through September 15. An individual must present their ID and vaccination card in person to receive clearance to attend the concert. In addition, we're in discussions with a company that has software which will speed up the approval process.

If you are not prepared to adhere to these requirements, and you are a current ticket holder, contact the Box Office prior to September 15 for a refund.

Currently, GPAC is under a mask requirement per the Shelby County Health Department. Please visit www.gpacweb.com prior to the concert to learn about mask wearing and other requirements, as the regulations are constantly changing.

Click the Frequently Asked Questions button below to learn the specifics of proving your vaccination status and negative test results.

In addition, we are offering CrowdPass health screening services to you as an alternative to having to bring your COVID-19 vaccine or negative test credentials to GPAC on the day of the concert. CrowdPass safely hosts attendee’s health screening data for a contact-tracing period of 28 days and then disposes of all data. CrowdPass is HIPAA-compliant and uses the latest best practices for encryption, certificate and key management, backups, monitoring and logging. Click the link below to complete the CrowdPass verification process and expedite the screening process. Once your vaccination card has been uploaded to the platform, it typically takes 1-2 hours for your status to be verified.

We’re pleased to announce that Gibb Droll will open the Bruce Hornsby & the Noisemakers show! Mr. Droll is is an American composer, songwriter, painter, and scorer of film. In addition to his tenure in Bruce Hornsby & The Noisemakers, Droll is noted for his numerous side projects including those with Ken Coomer (Wilco), Bryn Davies (The Tony Rice Unit, Jack White), and the prolific songwriter and poet Kevn Kinney. He has been highly sought after as a touring and studio guitarist most recently collaborating with his longtime friends Brandi Carlile, Keller Williams and Larry Keel. His earnest reputation and selfless nature have aided him in his successful emergence as a record producer.

Bruce Hornsby, the creatively insatiable pianist and singer-songwriter from Williamsburg, Virginia, always has succeeded on his exceptional gifts, his training, and his work ethic. He became a global name in music by reimagining American roots forms as songs that moved with the atmospheric grace of jazz. “The Way It Is” defined sonic joy on the radio, however as a hit record it also evidenced a thrilling re-structuring, and during the years afterward Hornsby, in staggeringly diverse ways, has kept going.

He has returned to traditional American roots forms, collaborating with Ricky Skaggs. He has played with the Grateful Dead. He has fused the plunk and dazzle of twentieth-century modernist classical composition to singer-songwriter emotional inquiries. He has scored films. He has performed with symphony orchestras. If the sound of an arrogant air-conditioner or a stretch of rude playing caught his ear, he has entered the hallowed doors of the conservatories of punk. So when Hornsby describes Absolute Zero, his new album, as “a compendium of what I like and moves me,” don’t expect perhaps a thing or two new. Prepare for a multi- faceted ride.
