David Hall and Wolf Murphy will perform a variety of percussion instruments and rhythms from around the world, then conduct a workshop teaching attendees how to play the various interlocking rhythms of the Brazilian samba. Participants will also learn basic samba dance steps led by Jenn King. The finale will include a performance by attendees of the workshop, joined by Wolf and David.
David Hall is a visual artist, writer, percussionist, and educator. He has been performing in world percussion ensembles for 25 years, with a particular interest in Cuban and Brazilian rhythms. Wolf Murphy has been a world drumming instructor and rhythm facilitator for 30 years and a lifetime student of percussion. He is both a Remo Health Rhythms and a Therapeutic Drumming Intervention Facilitator and author of 5 drumming books and numerous Cds.
Creative Arts Ensemble is a multi-disciplinary experience that provides adults with disabilities the opportunity to be understood and heard, to execute self-expression, to build confidence and promote self advocacy through multimedia forms of art.
