The symmetry and song of nature ring loudly if we take the time to listen. Music lives in our memory, as we can only remember what we’ve heard, but nature continues to remind us to be grounded and rooted in the present moment. The GPAC Youth Symphony Program will present a concert entitled Stop and Wonder on Sunday, November 20, featuring the Mozart String Ensemble, Wind Ensemble, Mendelssohn String Orchestra, and the Youth Symphony Orchestra. Through works composed by Curnow, Wagner, Newbold, Mahler, Teleman, Chesnokov, and Franz Joseph Haydn, we hope to explore how music and nature intersect and how we can acknowledge our connection to the ecosystem if we simply make time to listen.
