Resilience is both the ability to recover from unprecedented difficulty and to spring back into an original shape. This elasticity will be demonstrated by the GPAC Youth Symphony Program in their fall concert series titled “Dancing with Resilience.” This will be the first time since 2019 that the Mozart String Orchestra, Mendelssohn String Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, and Youth Symphony will each be performing safely as a full group. Through pieces that highlight the natural movement and timeless connection between music and dance (including Del Borgo’s ‘Dance Scenarios’ and Dvorak’s ‘American Suite in A Major, Op. 98b, B. 190’), the GYSP will perform a program that inspires all of us to move and work together to overcome our current difficulties and look towards a more connected, brighter, and stronger future.
