A Welcome Return. Choreographed for Ballet Memphis in 2007, Mark Godden's Midsummer Night's Dream is based on Shakespeare’s well-known comedy about four young Athenians — Lysander, Hermia, Demetrius, and Helena — whose intertwining love lives lead them on a midnight foray into a magical forest where the fairy king and queen, Oberon and Titania, secretly plot against each other out of jealousy. This classic tale of comically unrequited love is brought to life by Ballet Memphis’ all-professional cast of dancers, who have performed to much acclaim on stages around the world, including the prestigious Joyce Theater in New York and the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.
Children are invited early for crafts and fairy fun in the lobby starting at 7 PM.
